Groundbreaking for the TTC’s new $36.2 million bus garage takes place at 3 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, December 10 at the Comstock Road site, between Pharmacy and Warden avenues.

Operating a battery of jackhammers will be TTC Chair Howard Moscoe, Commissioner Blake Kinahan, TTC Chief General Manager David Gunn and executives from TTC Unions, Vince Casuti and Jim Allen. They’ll be breaking ground for the 121,000 square feet transportation office and maintenance facility, set on a 15.7-acre site. Comstock Bus Garage, replacing TTC garages at Danforth and Eglinton, will serve 250 buses. The Garage will begin operation in the summer of the year 2001.
