Toronto City Councillors will take the first train ride along a section of the Sheppard Subway tomorrow, Friday, October 16, arriving at Doris Avenue (just east of Yonge Street) at about 10:30 a.m.

Media representatives are invited to descend to the bottom of the shaft at Doris Avenue and proceed into the tunnel (about 200 metres) to film the Councillors arriving on the workcar/train. Media and Councillors will then walk back to the bottom of the shaft to examine the tunnel boring machine which is awaiting removal, having completed its drive from Leslie to Yonge.

The Sheppard Subway Line is scheduled to open in mid-2002.
