TTC Chief General Manager, David Gunn has announced his intention to retire effective, April 30, 1999 following completion of labour negotiations.

David Gunn joined the TTC in January 1995 and, after four years with the TTC, he will have concluded more than 34 years in the public transit business. Prior to Toronto, he was transit chief in Washington, D.C., New York and Philadelphia.

“Toronto has been the biggest challenge of my transit career,” said Gunn. “I’m very proud - and every resident of this city should be proud - of what TTC employees have accomplished in recent years.”

“I look forward to concluding a labour agreement in the spring and a return to the hustle and bustle of Cape Breton,” said Gunn.

Gunn, 62 next year, hopes to become a Canadian citizen in the near future and to return to the family home in Cape Breton.
