Gloucester Garbage Train Hauled Away to Scrap Yard

by Aaron Adel
Transit Toronto News Archive - August 18, 1998

The Gloucester garbage train that was sitting at Davisville Carhouse (RT-38, 39) was to be removed using the same rubber tired trailer that is used to remove the H-1 cars, for transport to Hamilton. Unfortunately, for various reasons, mainly due to weight, the Gloucester cars could not be loaded on to this trailer. Instead what they must do is remove the trucks and break them down a bit so that they will be more easily transported.

In order for this procedure to occur, in the early morning of August 18, 1998 the two Gloucester cars were towed from Davisville Carhouse to Wilson Carhouse using two sets of T-1’s (5018-5019, and I believe 5020-5021).
