TTC APOLOGIZES FOR SCARBOROUGH RT DELAY

TORONTO, June 22 /CNW/ - Due to a damaged power rail on the
Scarborough Rapid Transit (SRT) Line, north of Ellesmere Station,
this morning, service on the SRT was delayed for several hours. Up to
20 shuttle buses were in service from McCowan to Kennedy stations.
The damaged track sheared the power-collecting contacts from the
train, causing the train to lose power. TTC work crews were
immediately deployed to the site. SRT service is expected to be
restored shortly after 10 a.m.
Crews are working to repair the damage to three SRT trains in
anticipation that full service will be available for this afternoon's
peak travel hours.
The TTC apologizes for the inconvenience to its customers caused
by this delay.
